Aroma-Bliss Balls Choc-Peppermint & Coconut-Lemon *with a cheat tip*

Does it ever feel like everyone in the house is eating or hungry ALL the time?

Aroma-Bliss Balls

Energy seems an all time high in our house at the moment with active lifestyles all round. So, ensuring there is always something nutritious to eat, snack on in the fridge or to take out and about is important in avoiding ‘grab and go crappy options’

Using activated nuts aids with digestion, you can buy activated nuts or activate them yourself (easy process involving soaking and dehydrating the nuts). Nuts contain enzyme inhibitors, enzyme inhibitors act by binding to enzymes and decrease and/or block their actions. The enzyme inhibitors act on our digestive enzymes, preventing their proper digestion and absorption, nuts and seeds also contain small amount of phytic acid, which our digestive system is also unable to break down.

Here is a little cheat to making 2 different flavoured batches of Bliss Balls with half the effort. I kept the base mix the same, split into 2 bowls and add the differentiating flavours, then roll ;)

Recipe

Ingredients

(Feel free to use whatever nuts you have handy in the cupboard or prefer)

BASE

  • 1 Cup of Activated Almonds

  • 1 Cup of Activated Cashews

  • 1/2 Cup of Activated Brazil nuts

  • 1/4 Cup of Dates

  • 1/4 Cup of Activated Pistachio nuts

  • 1/4 Cup of Activated Macadamia nuts

  • 3 Tbs Rice Malt Syrup/Honey or Molasses (sweetener of choice, you can use less or more)

  • 2 Tbs Chia Seeds

  • 1-2 Tbs Coconut oil

  • Optional 1 Scoop of Grassfed Animal Protein Powder + 1 Tbs Macca Powder

FLAVOURS

Lemon-Coconut

  • 2 Drops of lemon Oil (I use DoTerra)

  • 1/4 Cup of Organic Desiccated Coconut

Choc-Peppermint

  • 2 Drops of Peppermint Oil (I use DoTerra)

  • 1/4 Cup or Organic Cacao Powder

Method

  1. Blitz all dry ingredients in a food processor or Thermomix until the mix forms a crumbly texture

  2. Add wet ingredients (sweetener and coconut oil) to mix through

  3. Divide mix into 2 bowls

  4. In one bowl add the cacao powder and peppermint oil

  5. In the other bowl add the desiccated coconut and lemon oil

  6. Roll into balls and place in an airtight container - these freeze well too.

  7. Eat!

Hot Tip - You can absolutely play with the flavours and substitute nuts as you prefer or whatever you have in the cupboard.

Much love Ash xx
