Perfect Evening Dessert to Promote Sleep
Oooooh yeah! Ever get that evening dessert feeling creep in but stop yourself because something sweet about now will mean a not so ideal sleep time or worse have it anyway?
Well do I have an ideal, guilt free dessert recipe for you, that yes, promotes a calming sleepy feeling while satisfying those after dinner craves.
Lavender essential oil is best known for its calming effects but did you know Lavenders therapeutic properties include but not limited to; skin healing, pain relief, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, immune support, antimicrobial, antiseptic, anticancer, anti fungal, sedating, aids digestions, reduces fever, encourages restful sleep, helps relieve colic, eases coughs, balances blood pressure, relaxing, combats irritability, antidepressant and reduces anxiety and stress just to name a few.
Roman Chamomile essential oil also has some amazing therapeutic benefits that include; pain relief, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-microbial, anti parasitic, calms and soothes nerves, reduces fever & colic, antiseptic, anti neuralgic, aids digestion, disinfectant, aids detoxification, supports liver function, calming, reduces anxiety, reduces anger and stress management.
Lavender & Chamomile Creamed Rice
Ingredients
80g Arborio Rice
480ml Coconut Cream
1 apple (peeled & cored & diced)
Pinch cinnamon
Pinch cardamom
Pinch nutmeg
1 egg (lightly beaten)
doTERRA Essential Oil - Roman Chamomile
doTERRA Essential Oil - Lavender
What to do
Place rice and coconut cream in a pot on low simmer for 20-25mins until almost completely absorbed while stirring occasionally
Add Apple, add spices, add egg for approx 2 mins
Allow to cool and stir through add 2 drops each of lavender & chamomile essential oils
Divide into 2-4 ramekins and Enjoy!!
